There are a lot of things that can be the cause of knocks around a house: water pipes, structure settling, expansion and contraction due to temperature changes, even unwelcome animals. Most of the time we can figure out or at least reason out such causes.
There are times, however, when loud knocks don’t seem to have a logical cause. Some who experience them believe they might even be a kind of message or warning…
about something. Consider these reader reports:
WARNING OF DEATH
“Recently, I was in bed; it was around 12:15 a.m.,” reports Chris. “My wife was asleep, as was my daughter. However, I was awake and in the process of going to sleep when I heard three light knocks. They were not rushed, but more like gentle knocks on our front downstairs windows. I got up. I was calm about these knocks, but thought they were strange. Yet nobody was there.
“I sensed something was going to happen. My late father told me when I was young that our side of the family always received a warning knock on the door. A week later, my brother-in-law died of a brain aneurysm.
He just turned 55. I believe the knocks were the warning.”
LOUD, BUT NO REASON
“I was at my mother-in-law’s house yesterday,” reports Elizabeth. “My mother-in-law and I heard three loud knocks on the front door, but no one was there. I have never experience anything like this before. What do you think it could be or mean?
ANGEL’S MESSAGE
“My husband and I had went to bed around 11 p.m.,” reports Alice.
“At around 1 a.m., there were two loud knocks on our front kitchen door. We got up and my husband shouted, ‘Coming!’ He opened the door and went outside… but find no one. A few days later, my one-year-old grandson and I were in a car accident. The car was totaled, but we were safe. I am a strong believer in angels among us and watching over us at all times.”
